A Taste of Tradition: Haitian Lemonade for a Refreshing Moment 🇭🇹 🍸
Haitian Lemonade is a refreshing drink.
May is Haitian Heritage Month and Haitian Flag Day is celebrated on May 18. This day honors the creation of Haiti’s flag and the unity it represents.
The flag dates back to 1803, during the final stages of Haiti’s fight for independence. It is widely recognized as a symbol of strength, resilience, and identity a reflection of a people who came together to create something of their own.
🌿 A Story of Unity
Catherine Flon played a meaningful role in the creation of the flag.
She is remembered for sewing ( using her hair as thread) together the blue and red sections of the flag after the removal of the white portion, symbolizing unity among the people of Haiti during their fight for independence.
Her contribution represents more than an action, it reflects the spirit of collaboration, strength, and cultural identity that continues to be honored today.
